Two words will do!

What two words should be used the most in the Indian Corporate world today?

Gross Revenue? Total Sales? Top-line? Bottom-line? Net Profit? All great words … Good try, if you guessed any of these! All those words are relevant on this last day of the financial year.

Often forgotten … rarely out of place … sometimes denied … highly effective … most times these two words will do to fill the hearts of your team with joy.

And today you have the opportunity to be lavish with it …..

When the orders are booked, contracts signed, supplied made, stocks tallied and the cash is counted it is time to sit back and think back on the year that was.

And there isn’t much time before the run starts all over again for another set of goals … that’s just one sunrise away! No, let me not get ahead of myself, let me not burst your bubble … for now enjoy that special moment … when you have reached the end of one journey!

–         Think about the year that has gone by,

–         Think about the campaigns that brought you success,

–         Think about the strategies your master-minded or helped formulate

–         Think about all the clever tactics and maneuvers that stunned the competitions.

–          Think about the major victories and the heady feeling they gave

–         Think about the losses and the lessons learnt

–         Think about the people who made everything possible

–         Yes, think about the people without whom nothing said above would have been possible

The ones who had to perform, to support, to deliver in order to get everything done … what of them?

What are you going to do today that will make their efforts special, worth remembering; how can all the toil be reclassified as special moments and happy memories?

Everything else can wait …. There will be awards, rewards, certificates, cups, shields, trophies, celebrations, bonuses, goodies and wild – parties …. All that will come later.

Use two powerful words to recognize and to make worthwhile the work put in by your team – the efforts that made the results possible.

For now, just say …………………… THANK YOU!

If you head a team make sure that you call them together and say it to them with all earnestness and utmost regard for their efforts; and if you are not leading a team say this to your boss, co-workers and the support team.

And if you are the head-honcho shoot out a message to all the offices, get on the phone and surprise your team with this special call … maybe shout it out from the rooftops – let your customers hear, let the world hear.

It does the job of  …… Well Done / Great Job / You Rock

Just say …. THANK YOU!

Today, two words will do!
